Summer Breeze

Normally shy, Crystal was hesitant on exposing herself in a beach likely filled with two legged people. To her surprise there were rather few out in the distance along the shore line. She takes a long glance into the inviting waters that sparkled in the sun. The water was clear and blue and the gentle breeze sent an exciting feeling all over her. She took one step so that she is now out of the cool shade of the coconut trees. Her single foot dug into the hot sand as she took a few more steps. Though hot, she felt a sense of relief and freedom being in the sun. It is not often that she gets to unwind from all the working and studying, even less now since she lost her leg. Her short stump dangled and wobbled as she swung her forearm crutches. She looks down and raises her stump, curious how tan they could get if she stays in the sun long enough. Just then another stump pressed against her own and took her by surprise! She quickly looks up to see a slightly tanned girl wearing a a skimpy bikini and smiling at her. "Sorry to barge into your private escapade" She greeted "Zoey!" Crystal let go of her crutches and hopped excitedly towards her good friend to give her a hug. For a moment Zoey struggled to keep her balance and could not hug Crystal back. After shuffling for a bit the two girls stood still held each other. "Didn't expect to find you here, of all places and of all people" Zoey laughed. "I missed you! you look great..." Crystals voice trailed off for a but "you... lost your leg?" She asked, concerned that the person who took care of her during her own amputation and recovery now also lost her leg, unbeknownst to her. "Oh, long story dear, Sorry I didn't inform you" Zoey replied, raising her stump to give Crystals stump a nudge. Crystal giggled, unsure why her friend seemed so casual about losing her leg. "Well, you owe me some details" she "kicked" back playfully. "Aaand no time to waste, we're not here to bump stumps and stay dry, are we?" Zoey raised her crutches and tossed them at a nearby shade. Crystal smiled and did the same. Soon the two hopped together and raced towards the water. At last two long time friends were reunited. Their unlikely relationship rekindled and their bond became ever closer now that they truly share a common secret only they know. 

Finally finished this piece! Zoey and Crystal are both OCs of my first ever commissioner, , If you remember my early drawings, then you'd know at least one of the girls above. I made sure to make improvements so they hopefully look better than my older versions. I hope ajr24c doesn't mind my mini stories, I can't help writing them >_<
